This course is very well organized, with very detailed instructions, solid bibliography and excellent library resources for the students. Since the purpose of the course is to promote a true understanding of the American Political System, a lot of reading and critical analysis is required from all students. Technology is being use to its fullest capacity, in terms of quality and quantity of the information employed in this course.

The student is required to access the most knowledgeable sources of information, from the best libraries, like the Library of Congress, among others. For current news, the course provides access to http://www.thisnation.com  that will connect the students with the best magazine like The Economist, Le Monde, and others. Besides that, the student can access the publication of all the Federal Agencies like Office of Management and Budget, State Department, among many others. The course requires the completion of a series of assignments and exercises, in which the students will participate in role playing and simulations activities, in which he will apply the knowledge obtained in the course to interpret and resolve real national political problems and situations. For example, he will be required to explain how to balance the current Federal Budget, evaluate his own political attitudes and ideology according to a determined model, or to act as a political advisor to the President in his campaign for reelection.
